Fair Play

We visited the annual Ozarks Empire Fair here in Springfield with our friends, The Rhoads, last night and had a great time. I think we did just about everything and I took a bunch of pictures. Here are the kids BEFORE we entered the fair. Macauley is 5 1/2 and Catherine just turned 4.
And Maxwell Rhoads turns 1 on 11 August...

The dads and the kids had wristbands that allowed them unlimited rides. The group's first choice...

The traditional merry-go-round...

The Bee Bop Hop...

A little "line dance" while waiting in one...

Lots of fair food, including fried green tomatoes and sweet tea for me, corn dogs for all, tater tornado for Ryan, and a jug of root beer for Macauley...

Refreshing on a hot summer night...

The kids got to stand on a fire truck...

and bounce along in the bounciest ride at the fair...

and zoom on the motorcycles for my favorite fair picture of them all...

We visited Dairy World and the Birthing Center and got to see baby animals and dig around in some corn in a tractor tire. Classic...

After over 3 hours of food and fun, the parents were ready to head for home but the kids were not. So we took an AFTER picture of our cranky kids fighting us on the way out of the gate...

Maxwell, however, was still smiling as always! Good times with good friends...

I miss the fair! My usual treat is a jug of root beer, corn dog and Pineapple Whip (not all at the same time:). Great pictures--it looks like you had a great time. Say hello to all of my school buddies for me!
