I jumped in and started my wallpapering project in the powder room last night, and I am loving how it's coming along. I spent a couple of hours last week pulling pages out of old dictionaries, a literature book and some novels, choosing pages with graphics I liked and then some more basic filler pages.
I used a 50/50 mix of Mod Podge and wallpaper glue (probably a little more wallpaper glue--I've never been a measurer and just kind of slopped it all together). There is a little bubbling despite me using a wallpaper smoother extensively, but I decided I'm okay with that. I wasn't going for perfection, just an interesting look.
I'd say I'm about halfway finished, but I've got the trickier areas to navigate now. Ryan pulled the vanity for me (which I put on craigslist and a guy is coming over to look at right now) last week and Macauley took the initiative to put up a sign warning users...
I'm planning to replace the big marble vanity with this more petite little table topped by a vessel sink. I might find something else I like better next weekend when Barb and I go antique shopping, but that's the plan for now.
So I'm back to work...

Hey Hayley your bathroom project looks great! Can't wait to see the finished project! Christy
That looks great!!! I bet it's going to be gorgeous when it's all finished!!!
That is going to look wonderful when you are done. A couple of my friends did one wall(not a whole room!) in their dining room and it came out Fab U Lous!
I'm digging your work table too!

I just found your blog through Cindy at 'My Romantic Home'. I enjoyed readng it and I still have to go back and read some more. I love your powder room. That is a neat idea! I also like the sink idea. I've wanted to do that for a while but haven't gotten up the nerve to have someone cut a whole into my old buffet. That is what I plan on using. It will give me more counter space and have drawers. Come visit sometimes.
Have a great day!

That is so cool! You are a brave woman! Jen
I like the creativity you've employed to make your bathroom unique. The old table idea is really cool. You've set my wheels a spinnin. I already have this Vessel Sink and an old makeup vanity. The vanity needs to be refinished but it will look really cool. Wish me luck!
